"The Starving Aliens" - Behind the Scenes Look

“The Starving Aliens“ is a joint project CGI artist Jaka Tavs and me worked on with great enthusiasm.

Idea behind the story was inspired by Gregory Crewdson's photography and 80's blockbuster Sci-Fi movies.

The ability to implement CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) into photography composites offers incredible and limitless creative possibilites.

Process begins by defining moodboards and basic sketches of the CGI environment. The story was being updated while working on the CGI details. 3D dummies were inserted to mimic the characters in the composition.

Different lighting setups and camera angles were tested to see what works best. Each of the characters in the story had their own special wardrobe to match 80's US style.

Characters were then photographed in an empty theatre as we needed a huge space to match distances and angles.
